'IN CAMA' instead of 'IN CARTH'!
Lot 1263
Septimius Severus, 193-211. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.45 g, 6 h), irregular mint. Imitating Rome, after 203. SEVERVS AVG PART MAX Laureate head of Septimius Severus to right. Rev. INDVLGENTIA AVGG / IN CAMA Dea Caelestis, holding thunderbolt in her right hand and scepter in her left, seated facing, head turned to right, on lion leaping to right; to left, rock from which water flows. Cf. BMC 335, Cohen 222 and RIC 266 (for prototype with differing legends). A highly interesting imitation with curious legend errors. Cut across the reverse, otherwise, very fine.

This intriguing imitation has two errors: on one hand, it uses an earlier obverse legend that is not documented for this reverse type, and on the other hand, the engraver misunderstood the meaning of the inscription in the section and turned 'IN CARTH' into 'IN CAMA'!
